Mike Kennedy Wedding Ceremonies

This morning I was prepping a few photos to send over to Mike Kennedy of Mike Kennedy Wedding Ceremonies. This got me to thinking of all of the wonderful wedding vendors I get to work with on a weekly basis. These wonderful and talented individual become such a integral and involved part of each couples wedding day, it really is quite amazing.

Back to Mike. Mike was the wedding officiant or minister at a wedding I photographed this summer at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa. You may remember Darsha and Doug’s amazing wedding post found here. Mike is such a kind and warm individual so when he requested photos I nearly jumped at the chance to send him some!

Here are a few of my personal favorites from the wedding featuring Mike performing the ceremony.

Meet my friend Marie. Marie and I have known each other since jr. high school orchestra. She played the cello and I played the bass (yeah the big one). I have since stopped playing and have gone my separate way, but Marie is still very active in the music community. She is in a quartet, which I actually didn’t know about until I ran into her at a wedding I was shooting in February!

Marie’s quartet is called Emotion String Quartet and I had the fun opportunity to take a few photos of the group a few months ago. Initially we had hoped to take the photos just before sunset and it was destined to be a a perfect shoot. Destiny had other plans, however, and we had to improvise and shoot in the full sun in the middle of the Arizona summer!

Luckily the quartet members were up for trying something new and so we headed out to this field of cotton and proceeded to shoot these amazing photos! And yes we were all practically dying of heat stroke after the mid-July shoot!

Liz Love holds a special place in my heart. I was fortunate enough to photograph her wedding several years back and we have remained friends ever since! Liz now runs the exclusive jewelry company Liz Love Collections and I was recently able to take a few shots of her pieces.

Liz’s line, although not exclusive to weddings, is a perfect fit for many bride’s jewelry needs. She custom makes the pieces and the variety and quality of the work is exceptional.
