I love when I get to work with client who are also friends. Allie has been working for me for the last three years and so when she said she had met the love of her life I literally jumped at the chance to work with them. I loved how happy and in love they are and can’t wait to see what kind of beautiful kids they have someday. Seriously, these two are awesome.

Riette happens to be one of the funniest people I know. The first time we met was when I was shooting this wedding and I thought to myself, who is this funny girl. Well sometime later I found myself shooting Riette’s engagement session with her new fiancé Jason. I loved working with them at their engagement session, so I knew I’d love their wedding, and I wasn’t disappointed. It was fantastic!

I loved Riette’s dress. It was so fun yet simple and I loved that it didn’t have a train, definitely a change and so nice to work with in photos! I also loved the bright colors her girls were in and the matching ties, suspenders and socks for the men. My two other favorite things were that Jason surprised Riette with a new HUGE ring during the ceremony. The other is that Riette is from South Africa and in a nod to tradition he brought in a steer to act as a dowry. Then he told her parents they really couldn’t keep the steer, but that he’d purchased a huge freezer full of meat to stand in it’s place. It was a cute and endearing gesture topped off with a gift of a cowbell as a remembrance.

Riette and Jason say:

I work in the wedding industry and thereby I work with a lot of different photographers.  Choosing your photographer is almost the most important vendor, it is the only item you take with you after the wedding.

Your only physical memory.  There are truly a lot of talented photographers out there, but if I had to make the decision again I would have chosen Darby again for my own wedding.  The key thing that made me choose her was at our first meeting she brought 2 albums the genuinely looked like 2 different photographers had done the work. This told me that she did not have a particular look, but that she created a method and look around the brides personal taste and personality.  And both albums were absolutely AMAZING.

Darby has also shot 2 of my clients weddings and the brides could not have been more different in personality but the photos matched each couple BEAUTIFULLY!  Honestly I cannot say enough wonderful things about her, she will be amazing to work with I guarantee it, she will give you photographs that will make you tear up!

My dad who is not impressed by much could not get over how amazing her work is!  I wish I had better stronger words to convince you how amazing she is and that you should hire her but I cannot think of any, I just know this will be a decision that you will never regret!

Allison and Dennis’ wedding this weekend was rockin’. They had an 11/11/11 wedding and it was really a wonderful wedding.

Sedona Engagement Photography

Jeremy and Amber’s elopement was literally picture perfect. We drove up to Merry Go Round Rock in Sedona and took some of the most beautiful wedding photos I’ve ever seen. Congratulations to the two of them on the wedding, it was so much fun!

Sedona Arizona Wedding Photography

Amber and Jeremy eloped this past weekend in Sedona, Arizona and I was lucky enough to be there for it. Not only was the ceremony spectacular (which I promise to show off later this week), but the scene was breathtaking. A huge congratulations to Jeremy and Amber and a special thanks for allowing me to be a part of the wedding.

I had the wonderful opportunity to shoot Dave and Bekah’s small and intimate wedding ceremony a few weeks ago. Their officiant was the ever wonderful and gracious Mike Kennedy.

They held the wedding on the Patio of A Different Pointe of View at the Hilton Pointe Tapatio Cliff’s Resort.

Adrian and Vanessa’s Villa Siena wedding this past weekend was amazing. They were so relaxed and confident in their marriage to each other that the little hiccups that happen here and there didn’t phase them a bit! I was so please to be able to be a part of the day and wish them all the best in the future.

This is the room they were married at. If you haven’t been to Villa but like a classic Italian style, you should definitely check it out.

I know it’s been around for a while, but I really really like this trend of colored brides shoes. Vanessa’s were these hot pink heels!

I love the look down these long corridors at Villa Siena, they are dreamy and so easy to shoot in with mid-day sun (I know only a photographer would care right?)

Keeping with tradition, Vanessa and Adrian opted to not see each other prior to the wedding ceremony. They were so fun together afterwards as we went to take couple photos.

I loved the sparkler exit and the best part…

their parents surprised them with a brand new car at the end of the aisle! That’s the kind of clients I have! Wow, it was so incredible and emotional!
