I’m a junkie for good friends and family pictures. I mean I’m obsessed with getting amazing photos of the couple together, but I love pairing those with amazing and fantastic family and friends shots. I figure the bride and groom have spent so much time and effort making sure that their family and friends have a good time that I need to do an amazing job of capturing those relationships! So when I shoot the family and bridal party times of the day we have a lot of fun. We shoot so fast and laugh the entire time. It’s defiantly one of my favorite times of the day.

My simple suggestions for a flawless shoot are to write up a simple shot list. Usually the groupings are shots we always do, but it’s nice to know if there are any special circumstances or groups we need to capture. After that I suggest the couple relax and trust us to get all of the shots instead of trying to keep track of which ones we’ve shot. You’ve got too much else going on to try to keep that all straight!

I never mind when guests want to jump in behind me and snap photos, in fact it makes me laugh.

Grandparents were a big part of Brittany and Andrew’s wedding day and I loved what a priority they placed on getting photos with them. 

The guys were laughing that I had them stand like this, but I totally love how it turned out. They said they felt like they were in a line up.

This guy was a total ham.

Andrew included his dad and father in law in the groomsmen’s festivities!
