Arizona might be dreadfully hot right now, but it does have one thing going for it, the sunsets. I’ve never been anywhere else in the world that has sunsets like ours. My husband claims it’s because of all the pollution, which is probably true. I don’t care though, they are fiery red and full of majesty.

If you ever get the chance to take out of town family members on an Arizona tour, I’d suggest taking them to the top of South Mountain. The view up there is unrivaled, you can see the whole valley. The best part if that you can drive all the way to the peak! I’m not much of a hiker, so I liked that the very best.

For Brandie and Paul’s engagement shoot we decided to do a little desert themed sunset session, and boy was it fun! These two were so easy to talk to and I loved spending the evening with them. I really can’t wait for their October wedding! They are hosting it at Villa Siena and I have an inkling it’s going to be simply divine!

I was just innocently sitting at my desk today, working away, when I came across a few pictures of myself. So I thought I’d toss up a little post that is all about me!

My full name is Darby Elizabeth Simon. I’ve always loved my name and I love that it doubles as my business name too!

I’ve been happily married to this guy, Jonathan Simon, for the last two and a half years.

We welcomed our first child into our home this January. Jonas Simon

Jonas is now six and a half months old. He is a truly sweet child and I’m a lucky woman to have him as my son.

I’ve been shooting photography since high school and this is the original camera I owned. I asked for it once for a birthday present and my dad re-gifted it to me.

I started shooting weddings at my sister Allison’s wedding. She’s the sister just older than me in this picture. I chose this one because school started in our neighborhood today and this was a first day of school picture!

One of my favorite classes in school was my darkroom class. I still have many of the prints I developed. My oldest nephew became a constant source of modeling talent for me.

I’m the middle of seven children. This picture is from when my second to last brother was born, I’m the grumpy one on the far right who was mad that she didn’t get to hold the baby.
